Video Blogs And Parodies

If you have watched a bunch of online videos you have probably watched a parody. There’s a whole lot of them – some good and some not so good. It’s part of the fun on YouTube to interact and participate by copying a popular video.

Why do people do it?

  1. Fun
  2. More views
If they can connect their parody video to the popular one in some way with the title, description, tags, or as a related video the video host and search engines might connect the two videos. They hope that all those people watching the viral video will watch their spoof on it and pass their version around too.

My caution for making parodies – Don’t stray too far from your niche or usual style. Considering the massive amount of video that is uploaded every day there should be something that works for you. The YouTube Trends blog is a good place to find out what video is popular.

Improve Your Video Blogging With These 3 Simple Steps

I love to watch video blogs as well as make them. I’ve noticed that there are 3 very simple things people tend to forget. You probably have heard them before, but I figured that a reminder doesn’t hurt. These 3 steps require no special skills. If you can talk and type you can do these 3 steps.

  1. Say your name and website in your video
  2. Type your full url as the first thing in the description for the video host
  3. Keep it short!

The video is embedded so it shows in the featured videos. If you can’t see it click the title for the full blog post.
