Video blogging is content and just as you make mistakes in speling, linking, updating, etc. you will make mistakes while video blogging. If you are not live you can redo it and fix the vlogging mistake in editing; and you’ll end up with a blooper for the end of your video. If you are live you can get mad or make a joke. I’m sure you all agree that making a joke is the better route to go. If you don’t know a way to joke about it at least smile and keep going.
In the following video the sportscaster’s stool breaks. He kept going, made a joke, and continued with his main point. What’s interesting to me is that I would have never watched this video if his stool wouldn’t have collapsed.
Video builds trust faster than written words, and vlogging mistakes often add to that more than detract. I love to watch bloopers, and often get good comments when I include mine at the end of my videos. The bloopers show that the vlogger has worked hard and is real; the sincerity/passion/fun often comes across in the bloopers and those make it easier for the watcher to build a relationship with the actor.
Don’t be afraid to make a vlog because you mess up. Use your mistakes! Learn from them and vlog some more. Practice will help you feel more comfortable on camera, but you can’t guarantee that it will make you perfect. Remember that your vlog doesn’t have to be perfect – it just has to be out there so it can be watched.

This guy made a great recovery. I feel that when someone can recover from a mistake and make a joke about it, other people feel more comfortable with their errors. For instance, when our pastor makes a mistake during a church service, he stops, laughs at himself, then goes back to where he should be. He’s great.
