What makes a topic video-blog worthy? It’s a good question and I’d love to hear your answer!
For me a lot depends on time and location because I’m not a big fan of webcam videos. I use them; they’re fine. I just prefer to do vlogs in different locations. That requires a place to record video and the time to do it.
Another deciding factor can be where it will be posted. Most sites are video friendly, but not all. Some sites are only for video.
Things that lend themselves better to vlogs are…
- 1. …reviews where you want to show people how the product works.
- 2. …sarcasm that doesn’t come across with italics or underlining.
- 3. …kids that talk so-o cute.
- 4. …something that makes you feel a lot of passion or excitement.
Things that lend themselves better to blogs are…
- 1. …long stories.
- 2. …complicated recipes and cooking instructions.
- 3. …thoughtful musings.
I’m not saying that you can’t do those things I listed in the opposite format. Vlogs are new and everything used to be written as a blog. On the other hand, one of my favorite things to say is, “If you can blog it you can vlog it.”
I think it all boils down to what you like.
How do you decide?
