There’s another new type of cards out from Hallmark. Have you seen the webcam greetings? They sent me some to look at and I wasted a solid half hour the first time just sitting at the desk and playing with them.
Then I spent more time showing them to the rest of my family. What was even neater was that my daughter actually got one for her K-5 graduation. My kids immediately spotted the webcam icon and got excited.
First – what I didn’t care for. I don’t care for the fact that you have to download a program for each card. If you have 2 cards you have to go through the process twice. We tried to see if the webcam would pick up a different card, but it only picked up the card with the program open at the time. It was easy to delete from my desktop when I was done. And just to warn you – my old computer took a long time to be ready to “view” the card.
Now what I did like. They are fun and fascinating! I’m intrigued by the way you can tilt the card and get a 3D view of the video. It makes them more exciting for the kids that can’t read.
A lot of people like Hoops & YoYo and this way you get a Hoops & YoYo card and video. They also have Dr. Seuss, Disney, and more.
Some of the cards even play music when you open them! In those you get the regular writing, the sound when you open it, and the video on the front. FYI – those kind cost $6.00.
If you go to Hallmark.com/extra you can see the different kinds of cards available.
Now For The Giveaway!
