As I have previously stated, “There are no hard and fast rules for vlogging.” But every person that vlogs has ideas of how the video should be. Plus, better videos make for more regular watchers.
I’ve found that sooner or later a vlogger breaks their own rules.
My example is, “Please don’t let your child hold your camera. Prop it on something and let them watch through the screen.” But when my choice was no video vs. having my child hold the camera – I had my 5 year old hold the camera. Granted she’s a daughter after my own heart and mimics me so she’s not bad, but still…she’s 5 – not a steady tripod.
Ya know what? No vlogger police caught me or fined me. It’s okay. It came down to a choice of no video vs. mediocre video and because I luv vlogging I chose the mediocre video.
Remember that if you wait for a perfect video or perfect time to video you will probably end up with no video.
So all those rules you’ve heard? Go ahead and break them!

We break “the rules” all the time as we figure this stuff out.
Thanks for the tips!

Great video! My guess would be the scenes that are farther back – when you are actually mowing or getting off the seat. Whichever scene – they did a great job! I did have to laugh because the one my daughter helped with is about mowing too.
