Have you ever met someone who doesn’t like Hallmark? I’ve never talked to anyone that doesn’t think Hallmark is great. They were a sponsor of the Blissdom Conference and had a booth set up to do interviews with bloggers.

Sarah and I started making vlogs at about the same time. Because of our videos we were able to recognize each other right away when we met at a a conference. Even though we both love to make videos we were a bit nervous about the interview until we saw each other – then we [...]
Yoly has only been making vlogs for a month or two. In that short amount of time she has become so much more comfortable with making videos. She even has a live show on MomTV!

They had my attention as soon as I saw the camera. The ladies were all very nice, as expected. Embedded above is my interview with Sarah. She is a Hallmark writer – what a cool job! She said that she doesn’t have to just sit at a desk and try to think of lovely things. They give her very specific instances to write sayings for and she can walk on a treadmill or move around to help her creativity.
Anyways…let’s talk about the video set up.
They had 2 chairs in front of a collection of cards on a wire rack. I would have moved the interviewer over a bit more to the left so the interviewees would be more in front of the cards.
The lights were above us on each side of the camera.
The microphone was on a stand in between the chairs. Nobody had to hold the microphone or feel nervous about having it in their face. I actually forgot it was there.
The camera was set up on a tripod and had an earpiece for the cameragirl to monitor the sound. As you can hear it was quite noisy in the background – happens at most conferences. In some of the interviews the person recording zoomed in on the blogger’s face and it is a nice touch.
Each interview is about 5 minutes long. Overall it was fun to do and fun to watch everyone on the Hallmark YouTube Channel. I just need to learn to not drop my cards.
