Vlogging Tip: Save Your Webcam Disc

logitech webcam Webcams are pretty standard in laptops these days, but there’s a couple reasons you might want an external webcam.

5 Reasons To Use An External Webcam

  1. If you have a desktop monitor without a built in camera.
  2. If you want to have the camera face away from the monitor for streaming or recording another person.
  3. If the webcam in your laptop is low resolution and you want to make better video blogs.
  4. If the audio does not sync correctly through the built in webcam.
  5. If the built in webcam stops working.

I found from personal experience that it is better to spend the extra money and get a higher end webcam. When you are shopping and see the big difference in webcam prices it will be very tempting to go with the cheaper option. You will get what you pay for. The cheaper webcam will be lesser quality and cost you more in time and frustration – so buy a good one right from the start.

I use the Logitech 720p Webcam Pro 9000 and am quite happy with it. It has outlasted several computers and that’s what gave me cause to make the video tip for this week. The tip is: “Whatever you do – keep track of the webcam setup disc that comes with it. You won’t regret it!”
